When will a black or a woman become American president?

I think it would take having them nominated by the Republicans rather than the democrats. If one is nominated by the Democrats (as seems highly possible soon), I think it will split the Democratic vote enough to elect a Republican. If, on the other hand, one were nominated by the Republicans (which does NOT seem likely anytime soon), then that would split the Democrats, too, because a lot of Democrats would feel obliged to vote Politically Correct way, and vote for the woman or black, rather than stick to party lines.



A third possibility is even less likely but more to my tastes. If the main third party, the Libertarians, nominated a very good candidate who was either a black or a woman (and there are plenty of possibilities in the Libertarian Party), that might draw out enough people to scramble both the Republicans and Democrats, and produce a win for the Libertarian Party.

I think we should focus on just getting a female President first (Black, White, Hispanic etc). I think Hillary may be a possibility to be the first.

On the 33rd day of Nevuary...I hate to say it but I don't see it happening anytime soon. The good ole boys in DC couldn't allow anyone they couldn't control to have that job.
