Seemon, you talked about the case being under investigation. What kind of investigation is that? Done by whom? I take it that when you talked about 'investigation', it should mean an official investigation undertaken by the authorities of the Indian government or the United Nations investigative agencies.

How did you confirm that all those girls were raped by the UNLF? The case is now under investigation not yet finalized. The UNLF also requested to the ICRC for through investigation of this allegation.

How did you know the UNLF planted all those landmines?

The UNLF are the one who called for plebiscite under the UN supervision to end this armed conflict. And the many NGOs, All Manipur Student Union, senior citizens and intellectuals support the plebiscite but the India Government refused to hold plebiscite in Manipur. The India Government ignored our people’s voice and trying to launch ethnic war in Manipur.

I am also a tribal do not categorize us tribal and non tribal we are Manipuri we’d like to end this armed conflict peacefully.

Please do not try to mislead the people, the case you mentioned here is under investigation and according to one of the Manipuri websites Internet polling majority people did not agreed this allegation against the UNLF.

Use the www.un.org always the UN takes genuine case not a fabricated one. Many fake NGOs are looking for advantage in the name of innocent people from the UN on many ways for monetary help or political gain, so you must be careful when you report the case to the UN.

I read the other messages in this thread and it seems to me it is not a right place to make argument. As well as, we must be careful on sensitive cases, whenever we give our opinions.

I heard the ethnic problems of Manipur in Kuki-Tangkhul-Clash in Manipur it made me upset a lot more than 800 Kuki tribe including women and children were killed and burnt many villages by the Tangkhuls in Manipur. That time I noticed the generosity of the valley people. They had provided basic needs of both tribes Tangkhuls and Kuki without a single help from the United Nations.

We witnessed many victims of ethnic war in our world it is so painful to me. So we must always think about how to avoid ethnic war in our world. Always we must think who are behind these ethnic wars and what the motive of those peoples are. Who are the main beneficiaries? Manipur is an armed conflict zone, tourists are not allowed to enter without RAP and there are so many draconian laws are imposed this area, so the international community never knows very well about Manipur. Under these circumstances, there are so many things could be happened under Indian counter insurgency campaign.

From my viewpoint the insurgency related violence in Manipur is nothing when we compare with the violence of the armed conflict zone of the world. The armed organizations of Manipur never bombed in the public place always avoiding civilian casualty according to the local newspapers.

For me I think we must find an amicable solution to end this armed conflict in this region.

I do not like to see another ethnic war in Manipur; we had enough examples from the Kuki-Tangkhul Clash and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We do not like to be a victim of the propaganda and counter propaganda war. We do not like to get lost our lives on the war between the Indian security forces and the armed organizations in Manipur.

Let’s find a way to bring peace in this armed conflict zone before it is too late.
