PLEASE ignore the mindless "get out the vote" campaigns as what SHOULD be said is, "Vote, if you are able to make a well informed opinion based on, among other things, quality research and clear, logical thought."

But, somehow that just doesn't have the same ring.

When I discuss politics at the end of the argument I always ask who did you vote for in the last presidential election the answer is usually I didn't. Yes if you want an intelligent conversation you should vote.

Well if you care about who is in charge of things then you need to get to the voting booth and vote for whoever you think is the best candidate regardless of Political party.

If you refuse to vote then you have no right to complain about who is in charge because you have a chance to vote against that person and refused to take it up.

It used to be that we lived in a "representative" Government.

That is no longer true. Democracy is fading fast under Bu$h. We now live in a "dictatorship" Government. The fraud in our past two elections was so widespread they did not even pass UN standards. Check out Diebold. Whoever has the most money will win the next election. That is fact. Democracy can not be installed, it also can not be given.

Vote on yahoo or vote as a citizen.

Vote on yahoo to voice your opinion on which answer you think is best, that and you get some extra points.

Vote as a citizen because if you do nothing else in your life, it is you duty to your country and your people to voice your opinion as well. :)

You vote to select whom you want to make the decisions in government. Sometimes the person you vote for wins, sometimes they lose. If you don't vote, then (IMO) you have no right to criticize who ever wins.

It's your only true chance to get to state your opinion and have an influence on how the Government is formed.
