Question:
Why are people thinking that the UK doing badly in the Eurovision song contest is down to 'political voting'?

I saw the Eurovision song contest at the weekend and I have to say that the right country won the competition, it was by far the best song. Also the UK's finishing position didn't surprise me because the song wasn't that great compared to the others. However, I was reading on the internet earlier and a lot of people were saying that it was all political which is nonsense. The UK should take responsibility and put a good act in the competition rather than saying it is all 'political voting'.

The UK is slightly separate from the rest of Europe and it doesn't tend to have as many connections with mainland Europe. It is true that in Eurovision, countries often vote for their neighbouring countries because it is pretty much down to politics. As for the UK putting in a "good act", most people in the UK see Eurovision as a bit of a gimmick and don't really care about it as much as other European countries.

The UK has tried all types of songs and singers, ballads, upbeat, rap songs , these days the other countries hear all the songs well in advance so they have made their minds up long before the contest , no UK singer wants to be in the contest, its the kiss of death, anyhow it's the BBC who pick the singer and the song, the UK public have no say, since all these ex eastern block countries have joined they all vote for each other & I believe the song that won has been released a while ago and already been a hit, personally I don't think it does anything to help the music industry

i do no longer desire to assert something undesirable approximately Bonnie Tyler, she's large yet that music is drab, middle of the line secure pop for previous human beings. i could somewhat see something diverse, outlandish and unusual. a minimum of it does no longer be boring lol. We by no skill win besides, that is all political lol :)

Whilst song quality is a factor, it is quite obviously down to political voting. Haven't you noticed how countries vote for their neighbours?

I think it's because Humperstink was useless, but we didn't want to win anyways, we don't need to be lumbered with hosting it next time. People always say it's political voting every single time, that will never stop.
