Exactly. The Tea Party was top-down. It was hijacked by the GOP, funded by GOP money, led by GOP leaders, built up and promoted by Fox News and other GOP 'news' sources. The Party defined the goals.

The OWS movement was bottom-up, true grass roots. The fact that it doesn't have an agenda, standard demands or slogans or even leaders shows you that it isn't led by charismatic partisans, financed by corporations or political parites. The media tried to ignore it for a long time, and when they were forced to cover it they tried to portray it as just a bunch of disaffected hippies.

But the Tea Party only lived long enough for one election. It helped the Republicans gain control of the House of Representatives, but all the Tea Party candidates, once in office, turned out to be business-as-usual Republicans. Now the GOP has decided it no longer serves their purposes and they've defunded it and stopped funding it, and the Tea Party is dying a quiet death. The last couple of rallies had less than 100 in attendance. The OWS, OTOH, doesn't depend on partisan leadership or funding, so there's nothing that can stop it.

The most fundamental difference is that the Tea Party narrative is people versus the government, while the OWS narrative is the poor and middle class versus the rich. The OWS narrative is more constructive.

Lies...all lies...

Here is the real truth. The Tea Party grew out of concern for the ridiculous spending the government was doing. People came to rally's stated their concerns and went home. They were not paid by anyone, they didn't need to be, because they went home after the rallys.

The Occupy WallStreet has been advertised in liberal circles for two years...is bought and paid for by the liberal left, who are destroying the areas where they are inhabiting with filth, crime has gone up in the areas where they are...and the radical left has bought and paid for their OCCUPATION with boxes of food, supplies, etc...it was not a group of concerned Americans...far from it...it is a bunch of incoherent freeloaders trying to relive Woodstock...having sex in the streets, smoking dope and defecating on cop cars...there is no comparison between the fleabaggers and the tea party...nice try to forward a lie though.
