How many man hours does it take to build an American car?

I want to find out how long or how many people get laid off when someone buys a foreign car.

to assemble the car itself, takes about an hour down the line..give or take. However, that doesn't account for the people that supply the company with parts, the trucks taking things to and fro. The businesses around the factory that count on the people there, for business. It's a lot more far reaching than the average person can concieve... I've worked in the auto supply industry for several years. I'm currently looking to get out of it, because i'm always afraid that things could dry up. I'm seeing it now as a matter of fact. It takes me an hour to put in a die, that will make a part, that will go to the assembly line... then it takes a few hours to make enough parts for the week... then it's another die change for for more parts...etc etc
